This awful picture was the best I could do of a red crested woodpecker that was happily pecking away at the oak tree while Meagan and I were doing animal chores this morning. It is about 30x zoom, and since my arms were not in fact a tripod, it’s a bit shaky.

Randal helps to put away the eggs. This is the highlight of his day!
I moved the goslings out to the brooder, we ended up with four so far! I’ve still got a few eggs in the incubator, so we might get a couple more!
Here I am putting up some more freeze dried food for camp, in this case the awesome Cowboy Casserole that our neighbor Mrs. Mel made! It will be great to have at camp.
All fluffed out, the goslings huddle together, and the turkey poult isn’t sure what to do with itself. We did sell one of them tonight. We’ll see about the rest!
Smolder is out and about, and ready for a ride!
Everyone is doing better, looks like we are on the upswing here with the cold. Jarek got hit hard and is still a bit down, but he is generally doing better and is planning to go to swim practice tomorrow.
I did some yard clean up, chores, and made a dump run. We are making progress on getting through some of the old kid stuff, getting things sorted and moved on to a new home. Also, still continuing to plug away at the bookkeeping. It’s really annoying when you let a big thing go for so long, and try to fix it…
