Morning goat pic!

I went to check on the chickens this morning, and found three hens all trying to rent an apartment together. They are starting to get a bit broody, so I kicked them out of the nesting box. They were very perturbed!

Smolder says that this box will do quite nicely for napping!

More goat shenanigans!

I made a trip to town to take care of some errands. I had a bunch of trash to take down to the transfer station after cleaning up the yard (still plenty more to do, another run tomorrow). Then we went to Tractor Supply to pick up a load of chicken feed, and then off to Lowe’s for a few things, and then, FINALLY (just ask the kids), we were off to Costco to get a few things for the 4th. Of course, we had our mandatory pizza sesh!

When I got back, I found one of our young cream leg bar hens was not doing well and not acting normally. They have reached the point where some of them are starting to lay, as you can see in the picture above. She, however, was very lethargic.

I had to bring the truck back across the street, so I brought her with me so I could isolate her. She was content to hang out in my lap while I moved the truck.
I ended up getting her set up in our small portable coop. I got some water and vitamins into her and she seemed to perk up a bit. I’ll check on her tomorrow and see how she is doing. I don’t think she ate or drank much today.
