Hump day!

by

19 August 2026 & 20 August 2026

It’s a rare thing to go a day without pictures, but we managed to do so for Wednesday!

We spent the day doing home school and clean up, then we had our Table Top Game/movie night in the evning!

Goat doing goat things.

The phantom photographer strikes again!

A not great picture of some eggs the guinea hens, I think, are laying under one of our bushes!

Additionally, I managed to get the wire run to the breaker box for the bathroom!

With the wire run, I had to get a new breaker to install it. From there, I just need to get the drywall patch installed and finish wiring up the bathroom fan, light, and outlet and I can close out the electrical portion of the permit.

Busy Wednesday…

by

Obligatory goat video!

Today was busy, I spent time up in the attic, but didn’t take pictures, chasing wires and trying to get things sorted. I spent some time hunting down a missing ground on a couple outlets. I found two ground wires not connected, and fixed them, but that wasn’t the final answer – still missing the ground, so more hunting is necessary!

Turkey-napping Monday!

by

27 July 2026

I managed to grab the other two turkey poults that were finally out and about. Here they are, chilling in a pot until I got their new living area set up in the chicken tractor.

We have another hen who is sitting on a clutch, hiding behind our A/C compressor. We will keep an eye on her, I expect they should be hatching any time now!

Light Brown mama hen is on patrol. She isn’t very happy with us at the moment, and will rush the kids if they get too close to her.

Garrett is all packed up and ready for one of his journeys!

Arya was at volleyball tryouts, so I dragged the littles to Scouts with me. Garrett and Randal had a great time in the play kitchen area. Evan was less than thrilled, but he got to play chess, so partial win for him.

Goats gonna goat. Baby goats hanging out in their play house because they can.

Sad day for the goslings

by

4 June 2026

Arya starts out the day by moving the chickens and letting them out.

After chicken maintenance, the kids went over to check out Anya and her baby goats.

Meagan took a video of Arya doing a lap.

Jarek and Evan get some practice in.

After they got back from swimming, I went out and ran some errands. When I got back, I made a batch of spaghetti and meat sauce for the freeze dryer.

Loaded up and ready to go! I accidentally bumped the button twice, so I had to wait for it to reset.

While waiting, I snapped this picture of Garrett enjoying his best life playing on the trampoline.

I went by to check on the goslings and the baby chicks, and found them dead. We aren’t exactly sure what caused this, but our leading suspect is a possible rat. They are currently near the shed where the rats like to live. We will be relocating them away from that corner of the yard presently.

A little cute baby goat video!
