Second week of September catch up post!
13 Sep

As usual, the day and the week started off with morning chores. The poultry and the goats were at our neighbor’s across the street.

The ducks and geese are very excited when their pool gets cleaned out and refreshed. The quest for a better, portable, bird pool continues!

Meagan took the kids to a birthday party at a Jiu-Jitsu place. The kids really enjoyed it as they got to be rough and tumble with each other!
The kids had a great time wrestling with each other! Gotta watch out on the mat, no one is safe!

While the rest of the family was at the party, Jarek and I went to Fernandina Beach to fundraise for his Scouting adventures!

It’s not often I will put a picture of a shoe on the blog, but this pair of Xero shoes I had been using was falling apart after several months. I did really enjoy them, and I even took them on long hikes with a pack, and they held up well.

We moved the goats to a new spot, and Jarek had left a bird feeder in their pen, and they quickly discovered it and started to play (destroy!) it.

Jarek finally got his battle blimp kit put together. He inflated it with helium and then had a lot of fun hooking up the motors to it, and flying it around.

Garrett and Randal have a great time building at the library!

After the library, it was off to Spirit Halloween! Randal found a neat hat!

Smolder continues his trend of claiming space on our desks, usually where the work needs to happen, of course.
A short little video of the ducks enjoying themselves after their pool was filled back up!

Taking a look at some of the mushrooms that started sprouting after the rains. We have been trying to build our soil, it is very poor sand, and this tells me we are getting somewhere finally!

Smolder says that school work is boring, and that he needs to be paid attention to! Perhaps also fed.
This turkey hen has been chilling on her remaining egg for quite some time. All of the other eggs in the clutch have gone bad, but I’ll give her credit, she’s dedicated to the task.
Garrett and Randal help me grind some wheat into flour. I’ve been using a lot of it lately baking bread, and it was time to replenish the stores. They were very excited about helping out!

Said bread! It was wonderful sourdough that the family loves, aka “Sour Bread”!
16 Sept.

Garrett awaits his turn in gymnastics class and ponders the deep questions of life. Perhaps he’s thinking of world hunger, or maybe just his hunger, and what’s for lunch? Or what adventure he will do next?
Daily chicken video! They are all ready to move to a new spot!
Our other flock/pen of chickens getting situated in a fresh square of grass.

A rough day at work, Randal is lying down on the job, as he plays hard during Garrett’s class.

Afterwards, they got to play on the basketball courts a bit. Randal had a great time chasing the basketballs around!

Garrett goes crazy for basketball!

Arya and Meagan enjoy a special day together with a sweet treat!

Jarek wanted to solder in a different battery to his blimp, so I set up the soldering iron and gave him an introductory class on soldering wires together.

I saw this cool bird in the yard, looks like an ibis of some sort. We don’t see them that often.

The kids caught themselves a lizard!

Playing at the playground while Evan is at soccer practice is always a good time!

Garrett acquired Alan’s scout hat. Now dapper, he is off for a stroll!

Arya and her team are ready for another match!

Momma – daughter selfie!

Smolder is interested in helping Garrett achieve writing success!

Garrett has been working on his writing, and is very proud of his numbers!

Friday night brought us to another camp out. This time it was close, a former girl scout camp that was bought by the county. Unfortunately, we had to haul all of our stuff from the trailer to the site, about a 1/4 mile in, which was not much fun.

I deployed my solar panels to recharge my battery. The big panel is rated at 400 watts, and the orange at 100 watts.

The battery shows both panels connected, and producing about 320 watts at the moment. I was able to recharge the batteries decently; they would make it through another night of CPAP usage easily.

Snapshot of Jarek in the campsite!
