Smolder started out the day, as he usually does, by laying in the middle of the nearest walkway that he can find. He likes to ambush feet that are coming by.
Evan had a early soccer practice for his new league. So, while he was at practice, Randal got some quality swing time in with Mama!
After the park, it was time for lunch! Meagan and Jarek went out for a birthday sushi lunch, which was Jarek’s request! Tasty as always at our favorite sushi restaurant, Akaya Sushi (there appears to be presently a certificate error there).
I was working on my bread. I tried out an adjusted recipe to make a softer sourdough loaf at the request of the kids and a few other testers. I think I was successful and the family and others who tried it agreed that it was much softer and better! I like a good crusty bread, but apparently there are those who, however wrongly, feel that softer is better!
Here you can see the results of the Jalapeno Cheddar loaf. Also quite soft, and quite spicy with the jalapenos from the garden!
The rest of the day was pretty relaxed, and the kids watched a bunch of movies while we hid inside from the heat.
