July 4 – 10 catch up post!

July Catch up! Brace yourself!

4 July 2026

The 4th of July was a fund day here! The kids had a great time partying and setting off fireworks!

5 July 2026

After the 4th, it was back to animal chores!

Meagan tends to the bucks in their pen.

It was a pretty relaxed day on the 5th. Randal and Evan enjoyed playing with their bubbles!

Back at Swim Practice!

Randal was showing off his building skills!

We had a baby turkey hatch, too!

I found an oddity – one of our milk jars had a crack, which was unfortunate. I ended up dumping this jar of milk.

I sewed velcro on to patches for the Scout Troop. This way the scouts who have leadership positions can easily change them without having to sew on the new ones.

A second turkey poult hatched later that day!

Back to morning chores. I have been experimenting with different pools for the waterfowl. The ducks really like the lower height on their pool. The geese have kind of wrecked theirs already, breaking one of the interior panels on the side.

Goat shenanigans!

Turkey poults out and about looking for a new home!

Of course, it’s not that easy being cheesy. Or having a pool. The hose split, so I ordered replacement hoses, but they wouldn’t come until the next day.

Post-move shot. I ended up catching all the ducks and the young goose and put them in the tractor to re-locate them. The waterfowl don’t really like being in the coop.

8 July 2026

A third poult hatched from our clutch of eggs!

More swimming!

9 July 2026

I got the pool all patched up with a new hose, and life was grand.

Garrett thought it was great, because he could stand in the pool with the lower water level now and he got to work on his swimming!

Goat shenanigans!

10 July 2026

Randal loves to help cook! Sometimes, though, he gets a little vigorous with stirring!

We got our egg washing machine to help with washing all the eggs! There was a bit of a learning curve, though.

We got it figured out, though!

That’s it for now! Tomorrow I’ll catch up the other 10 days!

I’ve got a cool new thing on the blog that will send users an email when a post goes live, directly, without it being on Patreon! So sign up here on the blog to get notified first!
